Excellent location: Just a couple of mins walk from C1 Exit of Ikebukuro station on the Yamonite line. The walk itself takes about 10 mins from the subway/metro platform till the C1 Exit. We spent most of the time outside the room and used the room only for night's sleep and freshening up. We did not explore much around the hotel so, I cannot comment on anything else. We were lucky to have got a room on the ground floor, so did not have to carry luggage over stairs. There was no elevator. The common area had a microwave (a stove would have been more useful), a refrigerator and a drinking water dispenser. The water dispenser came to rescue when we reached the room late in the evenings fully tired. We did not use any other facilities. The caretaker old lady was kind enough to walk us to our room to keep the luggage and allowed even one hour early check-in.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at House Ikebukuro, and it was a delightful experience. The cleanliness of the place was immediately apparent, with spotless rooms and common areas. It had complete facilities and equipments, most especially the washing machine and coin dryer. Despite being in a bustling area, the accommodation itself was wonderfully quiet, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the city. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure that all guests felt at home. They also often greeted us with warm smiles that melted my heart. The proximity to the station entrances made commuting incredibly convenient, and the numerous convenience stores within walking distance added to the overall ease of the stay.

The easy walk from the train station and the convenience of access to Shibuya etc. Quieter part of Ikebukuro yet great little restaurants and 7 Eleven nearby and easy to get to the busier areas of Ikebukuro. This was where we stayed for two nights when we first arrived in Tokyo. It was easy to get to from the airport even as novices to the train system and we liked the traditional Japanese style accom as our first introduction into Japan. Has a little fridge, private bathroom and there was a common area in the entry with cold water station and more fridges, I think there may have been a microwave too. For 3 girls with big suitcases it was also a manageable space.

Room is clean and well-maintained. The staff cleaned the room every day even when we did not request for it. All needed amenities were provided (body soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairdryer and TV). There are also a lot of electric sockets. A common kitchen is available for use in the first floor and we can get hot water for free. Location is very much accessible from Ikebukuro station, C1 and C2 exits. It is also close to many famous restaurants and tourist spots. Ikebukuro station is also connected to various Tokyo train lines which made our commutes more efficient.

The room was bigger than expected for one person. Many amenities (towel, hangers, toothbrush set) were provided. There's a common kitchen with all utensils and cutleries convenient for cooking. I had a pleasant stay for 8 days! Would like to highlight that the hostel is near "Fukutoshin line" Ikebukuro station. It's a little distance from "JR line" Ikebukuro station but its connected underground. Just follow the sign towards "Fukutoshin line", exit through C1 and the hostel is a few minutes away. If you have luggage, exit through C6 with an escalator. Hope this helps!
